PAYMENTS FAQ

Which payment methods do you accept?

Checkout.com

Checkout.com processes digital payments.

With Checkout.com you can make payment with: Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Maestro, Discover, Diners Club, JCB, CB, or Mada.

The Checkout.com platform and all its integration options are PCI DSS certified. This means that your data is handled securely, giving you and Magic Madhouse peace of mind.

PayPal

PayPal is an online payment processor and digital wallet.

You can use your PayPal account to make a payment with either the funds already in your account, Visa, or Mastercard.

Amazon Pay

Amazon Pay is an online payments processing service owned by Amazon.

You use the payment methods already associated with your Amazon account to make payments for goods or services on third-party websites, such as Magic Madhouse.

To make a payment, you can use any of the payment methods on file in your Amazon account. You are then able to manage your payment(s) using Amazon Pay on Amazon.co.uk, and it's also an easy way for you to integrate Alexa into the shopping experience.

Klarna

Shop now, pay later.

We offer two payment options when checking out with Klarna:

Pay Later, and Pay in 3

With Pay Later, you can pay for something you buy up to 30 days from the shipment of your order.

Klarna will send you a payment reminder with details on how to make payment to Klarna directly. If you’d like to pay off your balance before the 30 days is up you can make a payment early through the Klarna App by paying by card immediately.

You can make a payment before the due date, you're not penalised for paying early or on-time. You will be charged fees if you pay late.

With Pay in 3, you can pay for something you buy by dividing the cost into three equal installments. When you choose this option, just enter your card details to complete your purchase.

There won’t be any interest, fees or charges for using a debit or credit card by Klarna. Although your bank might charge you interest or other fees on top if you pay using an interest-bearing credit card, for example.

Pre-Order Prices

How do I know which products are pre-orders?

If a product is on pre-order you will see a purple pre-order sash on the top right of the product image. You will find pre-order items across our website and they are denoted with this sash, and in the product description either the release date or an estimated arrival that we will receive this from the distributors.

Do prices of pre-orders change in price before the release date?

Prices of pre-orders can go up or down.

If you have already placed your pre-order, the price of your order will not change.

If you have yet to place an order and the price changes, your order will be subject to the new price upon order confirmation.

This primarily relates to trading cards as their price will be dependent on a number of factors including what we open or the playability of a card. Other products like board games can change because of rising costs from manufacturers to distributors or an update on the product weight which can alter the shipping cost.

What happens if the price of the product I pre-ordered goes down in price?

Yes. If the price of the item goes down in value upon being updated from pre-order to in-stock.

If you send us your order number and let us know you would like to take advantage of the pre-order price guarantee, we will refund back to you the difference in store credit for your next order.

Are there any exceptions in any of your pricing if there's a pricing error?

Yes.

If we have made a genuine error with the pricing we may unfortunately have to cancel your order. This in no way infringes on any your rights as a consumer, we are human too and have been known to make mistakes.

Some examples,

  • if we put up for sale a product for £0.00, or
  • if the decimal was in the wrong place: £10.00 instead of £100.00
  • if we decrease the price of a product from £19.99 to £1.99 instead of £9.99.

Refunds and apology emails are normally sent within 24 hours of the error. If your order has already left our warehouse, we do not ask for additional payment. (Instead we just die a little inside).

Normally no one makes a purchase if the pricing error is the other way around: £99.99 instead of £9.99. However, if you did place an order at a highly inflated price because we made a genuine and obvious error, you would of course receive a refund of the difference back to your payment method before your order is shipped.
