My god. its one of my new favourite binders.
i got this on a whim having seen a few of the other legion binders on youtube reviews. i was always fascinated by the idea of an 8 pocket binder and, as the pictures don't do this justice, let me explain. these binders are 2 rows of 4, sideways as apposed to horizontal. what does this mean? well actually a lot of things. for starters, you can effectively have 4 play-sets in rows of 4 when this thing is fully open. rather than opening it sideways like a normal binder, you instead lay it flat and look at it. this is a great toolbox binder as i ordered my first one for my magic card toolkit (which i will get to in a minuet) and have just ordered a second to store my DND monster cards in.
so lets get to the meat, why is this good for magic cards? well i got this for my commander/pauper toolbox. because of the different style in layout the binder is the same shape and size as a standard binder. however i use this binder for two things - you open it one way, its play-sets of pauper "tool" cards that i want to get in and out and be able to flick through clearly. the other side is for my Commander staples i switch between decks a lot. cards i have multiple copies of and want to be able to find fast. this binder makes finding cards fast SO much easier. the binders are secure and sturdy and the "faux dragon hide" is a million times better than i ever expected it to be, or i feel it had any right to be. its just the right feeling of coarse and rough like leather, while at the same time not feeling abrasive on the hands holding it.
regardless of all the positive there is a minor negative in my eyes which stops it from being my number one binder i own after the ultra pro deck builder portfolios, and that is the elastic strap. for me personally i feel like its a little too loose and flimsy, and could do with being either twice the width or a bit tighter. however, this is only a minor problem that i cant stress enough. if you are looking for a binder you want to keep closed as a guarantee, i always suggest one with a zipper attached. however this, even if the elastic was to come off it, would still be at a B+ instead of the A- it starts at.
in conclusion, this binder is dope, and the fact that in the sale they are so cheap, i can't recommend them enough!
